Put a Flamingo on It!

I don't know about you, but I'm starting to see flamingos everywhere! No longer content to be a kitschy lawn ornament, this graceful bird can be spotted anywhere from swimwear, tops, dresses, shoes, accessories, and even as an awesome pool floaty (which I really hope the Palm Springs hotel I'm staying at this summer has).  Check out some of my favorite pieces below:

Milan Fashion Week Part 2

During the second half of Milan fashion week, one of my favorite collections was Dolce & Gabbana.  The ladylike designs were a tribute to Ancient Greco/Roman history.  A gold coin motif was used throughout, both through belts and embellisments.  Other standout looks came from Roberto Cavalli, Bottega Veneta, and Jil Sander.

The latest Bottega Veneta collection experiemnted with texture, particularly in this striking dress

Alberta Ferretti created a very wearable, springy collection with delicate floral printing and embroidery

Dsquared's collection celebrated the hour-glass silhouette with full skirts and nipped waists

Luisa Beccaria explored lace and delicate embellishment in her latest collection

Fendi merged futurism with femininity, fur and the 1920s flapper look

Prada's spring collection was a rainbow of colors and ideas, combining sporty elements with beautiful embellishments, fantastic shoes, and sure to be hot selling handbags

London Fashion Week, Part 2

London fashion week wrapped up with more eye catching prints from Peter Pilotto, delicate lace from Erdem, pastels from Burberry Prorsum, and glitz from Christopher Kane and Tom Ford.

Peter Pilotto does it again with trompe l'oeil prints and an announcement for a new pairing with Target for their next designer collaboration

Burberry Prorsum does easter egg pastels with embellishment galore

Christopher Kane's flower power collection contained petal cutouts on blazers and dresses as well as scientific diagramas of the flower on several pieces, and a few beautiful transluscent garments and pumps.

Tom Ford's collection was expertly tailored and sculpted, sure to make any woman feel powerful

Erdem used beautiful lace and neutral colors to convey the intricate details

London Fashion Week, Part 1

London Fashion Week so far has been quite amazing.  Digital prints are all over the runways as well as 3d floral touches, as with Matthew Williamson, Temperley London, and John Rocha.   Duchess Kate is sure to be outfitted by the majority of the Spring Temperley London collection while gorgeous digital prints at House of Holland and Mary Katrantzou are likely to be imitated by fast fashion shops all over the world.  London continues to be my favorite fashion capital and the following images can atest to that!
