Pretty Little Yellow Blazer:

This very stylish blazer from Zara was worn in two popular ABC Family Shows in the last two weeks:  Pretty Little Liars (middle) and Jane By Design (bottom).  From looking at the pictures from the two shows, you can see that it can be worn with the bottom part detached for a more cropped look, as worn by Jane from Jane by Design, or in one piece, such as with Hanna from Pretty Little Liars.  I did some research, and unfortunately this cute blazer is only available for an inflated price on eBay but I found a similar one from Zara here.

Alexander McQueen Resort 2013

Yet another amazing collection from Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen!  The designer referenced artist Gustav Klimt, Art Deco, Japanese floral prints, and dragonfly prints throughout the collection.  She also juxtaposed large belts with feminine dresses and alternated power suits with evening dresses.  Here are some of my favorite looks:

Tonight I will just be posting a song. This is from one of my favorite bands, Best Coast and is called "Up All Night." I've been listening to it non stop on iTunes and vinyl (yes, vinyl) Please check it out.  It is amazing.

Roberto Cavalli 2013 Resort Collection

Designers often look to art for inspiration in their designs.  In this case, Roberto Cavalli uses Japanese vases, Southern Italian ceramics, and Baroque floral elements in his latest Resort 2013 Collection.  Take a look and see if you spot the similarities!

Emma Stone, Cover Girl

Who doesn't love Emma Stone?  She has become a major star in the past year, with her roles in two of 2011's biggest movies, Crazy Stupid Love and The Help. Not only that, she's also starring in The Amazing Spiderman remake out this summer.   Even if you haven't seen her movies (which I'm sure you have), you only have to go to your local grocery store to see that she's on the cover of both Teen Vogue and Vogue, to see how popular she is.  Also, this is her second Teen Vogue cover in less than a year. (Her last was in September 2011). That must be some kind of record!

What a super fun way to start your morning with a Kate Spade coffee mug!
Getting to the Pointe

You have to be living under a rock to not realize how big ballet is now. Go back to 2010 with Black Swan's chilling portrayal of the world of ballet (notably costumed by Rodarté).  Now come back to today where not one, but two summer shows capture the graceful and enchanting, yet at times painful and dramatic world, of ballet.  CW's Breaking Pointe, which premiered two weeks ago, is a reality show chronicling the professional and personal lives of Salt Lake City's Ballet West Company while ABC Family's Bunheads, starring Sutton Foster,  has a little more comic relief intermixed with the drama.  (Who wouldn't expect that from Gilmore Girls' creator Amy Sherman Palladino)?

Now onto ballet's influence on today's fashion:
